During my Personal Project, I have learnt a lot of new karate techniques, punches, kicks, stands, blockages and moves. I have also improved my learning on kata and the important details. Finally, I discovered a new part of karate which are the different precepts of karate. I have learnt how to write a book and organize myself for book writing.
During my Personal Project, I have developed my writing skills by writing my book as well as my Personal Project Journal. I have also developed my own kata level in communicating with my karate teacher. I have highly developed my organizing skill, I have made plans to be able to finish my work before the deadline.
During my Personal Project, I have mostly practiced communication and collaboration skills during my journey. I have enriched my knowledge of different katas by communicating with my karate teacher. I have also used these skills in collaborating with my supervisor and receiving feedback to improve my writing and the content. I have also enhanced my research skills, I learnt how to identify correct information and used them in a good way. Organizing skills have also improved throughout my journey, I have made long-term and short-term plans to be well organized and be efficient in working towards my book. My book talks about Shotokan karate. I explain what a kata is and detail all the “Heian” kata. It also talks about all the punches, kicks, stances, blockages, moves and explains the origins of karate. There are also explanations on ranking passage and the 20 precepts of karate.
