In this personal project journey I learned many skills and experiences, in this project I learned independence skills which I previously didn’t have, like my independence in the kitchen. I was also able to culturally connect significantly better with both Mexican and Indian cultures. I also learned how to be able to read recipes and instructions better, I also was able to connect with ingredients and more but most importantly, I learned how to be able to cook good food, which signifies the success of my goal.
I have primarily developed my ATL skills, for example my research skills and all its sub skills improved exponentially. This is because these skills are necessary for making good quality because it requires finding good recipes. Another ATL skill I developed was my thinking skills, this is because I required my thinking skills to be able to think about a possible fusion between 2 internationally separate cuisines.
My personal project evolved a lot because the goal I had in mind initially was changed which proved quite a setback for me with my goal. As I proceeded in making the second goal the ATL skills proved very helpful because it allowed me to simplify the goal I wanted to do along with my personal interests. For example the ATL skills helped me shorten my borders like I decided I didn’t want to do anything focused on self management. Furthermore the IB learner profile also provided me with several essential skills that allowed the process to go through with ease. Overall, the ATL skills and the IB learner profile helped me significantly in the personal project and simplified many problems and allowed me to comprehend and retain information significantly better.
