Through the process of achieving my goal, I have learnt about the importance of self-expression for one's mental wellbeing and daily lifestyle.
I have developed several ATL skills. One of the most important skills I gained were Self-management skills, as it helped me build schedules and organize my work efficiently.
My personal project stemmed from my interest in writing, as well as my enthusiasm in the subject of psychology and mental illness. I wanted to utilize these topics to create an expressive collection, which was able to describe the biological, as well as mental symptoms/ experiences of teenagers today. Therefore, I decided to create a collection of poetry, after carefully researching the behavioral, biological, and lifestyle impacts of mental illness. I aimed to create poetry that was relatable, as well as information regarding the impacts of mental illness.
For me personally, this journey has enabled me to gain ATL skills such as media literacy, critical thinking, as well as self-management. All of these are crucial to my daily life, as they assist in making my future projects more organized and efficient. Communication was another crucial skill I utilized extensively throughout this project. In order to improve my personal project journal and properly depict my journey, I had a consistent flow of communication amongst my personal project supervisors and I. This helped me organize my product, as well as work with other people to retain feedback and improve the quality of my project.
