Drill The Holes (Wood/Cardboard)
1. Hand Drill Narrow Pilot Holes.
2. Drill Button Holes using 28mm Forstner bit. Drill each side 1/2 way to meet in the middle and help avoid fragmentation. This stuff is cardboard, not wood. Masking tape might help on CP top.
3. The Happ Style Buttons that come with it look like 30mm, but the sanwa clones I bought from amazon are 28mm.
4. Select and Start are 24mm confirmed.
Drill the Holes (Deck Protector/Plexiglas)
Step Bit and Forstner Bits suck for Plexiglas. Testing on other plastic, Hole Saw (as recommend elsewhere works the best)
Using 1 1/2 Inch hole saw. Extra space around buttons is desirable for Plexiglas.
When drilling make sure you have scrap wood behind it for support.
1. Place Little circles of Making Tape in center of holes.
2. Using Fine drill bit with hand drill, mark where you want the pilot hole to be. Mark the Tape not the plastic.
3. Place plastic over scrap wood. Without scrap wood support it will crack.
4. Drill using Hole saw. All the way through until you burn circle into wood.
If Holes are close to each other holes could overlap. So 1 1/2 inch might be to big if holes are close to each other. To avoid I moved hole a little and now button comes down on edge of plastic. Still works, but almost didn't for me. Next time if holes are close to each other use 1 1/4 hole saw, not 1 1/2.
