GarlicOS
GarlicOS has a lot of hype. But it can't even handle subfolders? So it's not really meant for people with more than a few roms for each system. No clue why people like it. OK auto resume is it's killer feature. Also supposedly reliability and lots of cores for retroarch.Yeah It seems he optimized core settings so games work optimally for each core.
Auto Resume means it just saves on exist, on restart you are exactly back where you where. It's awesomerecent is very cool as well. with screen shots of where I was. This is worth using because of this
Ok so I am going with this one.
For Console Main Menu I put mostly favorites since the List is linear and get's overwhelming when to large.
One thing however is RetroArch Main menu item. From this I will build full Lists onto other SD Card. That has Batocera.
Anbernic Dual System
I think this might be the best of both worlds. I want a garlic setup with my favorites, and if anbernic can browse folders I could use that to experiment
NO,
First they destroyed garlic OS and made it crappy. Horrible theme, ruined all emu by shrinking screen.
So will take work to get garlic back
PLUS
stock can't handle zip files. WTF.
I would have to uncompress everything.
Really thinking this is not worth the hassle. It does seems to handle subdirs but again only if unzipped.
I don't understand why megadrive requires bin files.
Batocera
SUPERB!
This uses Emulation Station for front end,
Controls select and back are backwards
Go into setting, developer settings swap east and south.
RGUI control are still off.
Tempted to go with this one.
Koriki
Pros:
Fat32 expanded out of the box.
A-B Controls are correct. Intuitive,
Has other EMU's like Batocera.
Cons:
Scan subdirs but flattens to one giant files list.
muOS
Playlists only. Still linear set of playlists only.
CONCLUSION
I've decided to give Garlic OS a shot.
The auto-resume just seems to cool.
Games seem to just play full screen the way I want.
On SD Card 2 putting Batocera with FULL game sets linked to from Retroarch on Garlic OS.
