GRS Trackball V2
How do I use this with a raspberry pi?
If I open the plastic case I see:
1. Input connector. Do I need to use this? What's it for?
I think we can connect a spinner to this input. Can be used to avoid the 12 in 1 board if connecting to stock a1up. Since I am using Raspberry PI don't think this will help me.
p2 Jumper
RES
GND
WIMS
5V
Remove the Jumper. We don't want delay.
Where do I plug this into 12 in 1 board?
12 in one board has 3 connectors
P1 - Spinner USB X Axis
P2 - Spinner USB Y Axis
P3 - Is to connect to Arcade 1up IO board. So don't use this? Then where do I plug Trackball in to?
Connect it to P2. Works Fine.
Connect USB Cord to windows PC.
Track ball should work like mouse.
Up/Down/Left/Right.
Also Spinner should go Left/Right.
WATCH OUT. So I had to open this thing to remove Jumper. The spinning rods that the ball rests on are pushed in side little cirle tubes with bearings. These rods are not glued in. It all falls apart very easily. Also when putting back together make sure it is sealed tightly. The only thing keeping those rods in place is the ball and there is some play even when tightly pushed on. Basically turning it up side down could cause the rods to come out. If a direction stops working re-open and keep right side up. Once we get this working it should have no reason to be flipped over. Just while we are working those rods could fall out again. Shake and you will hear rattle if this happens.
Kind of think the outer circle ball bearings should have been glued to plastic.
WATCH OUT 2!. When you put back together be careful on how you align it. I think if I align it the ball bearings stay. Honestly they should have mentioned this in instructions when they said just remove jumper. It still let me put back together unaligned and flipping over the mouse make all internal parts fall out and bang around.
