I thank everyone who supported my nomination and election as President of the Fred S. Burroughs, North Jersey Chapter of Trout Unlimited and am looking forward to the next two years.
I have some ‘big’ shoes to fill from Past President Bob Jacinto. Under Bob’s leadership our Chapter made much progress toward improving our banquet, embarking upon a new conservation project at the Sparta Glen, creating a Project Healing Waters Chapter, improving our website, and increasing membership activity levels, and much, much more.
As a veteran, I am looking forward to working with Bob on the Project Healing Waters Committee and paying it forward to our disabled vets. In addition, I want to increase our Chapter’s presence and prominence at the State and National level of Trout Unlimited. As the first Chapter of Trout Unlimited in the State of New Jersey, we have a historic legacy to live up to. Our Chapter was created as a mechanism to fight the Tocks Island Dam and our forefather were successful leaving us with the bucolic Big Flatbrook to fish forever. Our Chapter currently has many ongoing worthy projects that deserve State and National attention.
I look forward to serving everyone in the Chapter and look forward to everyone’s ideas and participation.
- Glen Zeeck, President
