Beautiful Weather & Great Fishing!

I hope everybody is enjoying the beautiful weather and the great fishing right here in New Jersey this year. The fly stretch on the Flatbrook has been spectacular since Opening Day and I don’t know of anyone who’s been disappointed at Point Mountain.

Thanks to the good work of Ed Sinning and his float stocking crew, trout can be found along most of the four mile TCA stretch in the Flatbrook.

We had a successful cleanup of the Flatbrook on April 25th. Eighteen members participated and enjoyed lunch together.

It is reported that our Sparta Glen Brook Restoration Project is moving along well. The Township signed off on the project on April 15th, the Permit Application is being finalized, and serious fund raising has begun.

On May 16th we have two important events. Mike Maher is going to head up the Annual Rockaway River Clean-Up and six or seven chapter members are going to man a booth at Sparta Day to introduce Sparta residents to our project and solicit donations.

Please don’t forget that we have Barry and Cathy Beck as our guest speakers on may 20th. They are truly world class fly fishing people. I’m sure you’ll enjoy their presentation.
