Egg Day, October 16, 2013
Nine volunteers from our TU Chapter met on October 16, at 9 AM at the Pequest Trout Hatchery, and received their supply of eggs for distribution to 21 schools. We heard from many teachers how great the quality of the eggs were this year. Since eggs were delivered on the 16, and additional school was added to our chapters care, now making the the number of participating schools 22, or four more than last year. Unfortunately, the most recently added school, in the end, was unable to participate in the program.
Noteworthy of the nine volunteers is the fact, that seven of them were first-time egg deliverers. It was great to see so many new hands getting involved. Was this the shirt program at work?? Future TIC volunteering opportunities include the delivery of replacement fish when schools suffer losses, and the preparation and delivery of onion sacks (more details to fellow) in the spring of 2014.
Thanks again to all who helped to make egg day a success story. They were: Joe Devenney, Ed Longo, Jeremy Stevens, Mike Balogh, Dan Sinning, Ed Sinning, Ed Desmet and Sue Reid and myself.
