2014 - 2015 Preliminary Report
Post date: Aug 18, 2014 2:17:15 PM
The new TIC season is just around the corner. Although not fully confirmed, it looks like we will have some 23 schools under our wings (or shall I say fins) for egg delivery and subsequent support.
Egg delivery day this year will be in early October, either Wednesday October 1, or Wednesday October 8, because the schools will be receiving Rainbow Trout Eggs, as opposed to the customary Brook Trout Eggs of the past. This, hopefully temporary change, was necessitated by the outbreak of furunculosis, a fatal disease FOR FISH, that first was discovered at the Pequest Trout Hatchery in September of 2013.
I will again be looking for volunteers to pick-up the eggs at the hatchery and deliver them to the participation schools. As soon as it is confirmed, I will share with you the Egg Day date.
'Til then, enjoy the rest of the summer!
