Use this idea to practice kicking skills outside of school.
Not many people realize how easy it is to make your own official soccer net! This PVC net is much cheaper than purchasing a net, with almost the exact same set up and equipment.
If you dont have the time or resources to create this item, check out the "Pool Noodle Soccer Net".
Construction Materials
2: 10-foot PVC pipes (3/4 inch)
6: 90-degree elbows (3/4 inch)
4: "T Connectors" (3/4 inch)
PVC primer and cement (if you wish)
Netting (try walmart fabric section!)
Zip Ties
Instructions for Construction
See website or 2nd picture for dimensions and set-up.
Cut PVC into the following pieces and lengths.
4 pieces at 6 inches
4 pieces at 18 inches
2 pieces at 24 inches
2 pieces at 31 inches
Connect all the pieces according to the pictures.
Zip tie the netting to the goal at the corners and wherever you find it necessary.
Apply each connection with PVC primer and cement, if you wish.
I suggest waiting on this step, becuase you may eventually want to shorten the lengths of the pieces to better fit the needs of your learner.
Modifications of Equipment
Use tape around the connections instead of cement, incase you wish to change the lengths later.
Use an old bed sheet, blanket or tarp if you don't wish to buy the netting.
The last picture is an even simpler version of this project for younger and beginning learners, or if you don't have enough supplies to make the large version.
Wrap certain areas of the goal with pool noodle for safety.
Place bells on the netting of the goal for learners with visual impairments.
