Use this easy alternative when you feel like "shooting hoops" inside!
This can be a great alternative to beginning learners and those who don't have the strength to shoot at a regular hoop.
The learner should still be focusing on the correct and age-appropriate skills and cues of shooting a basketball.
Construction Materials
1 Pool Noodle
Tape
Ball that's safe to play with inside (beach ball).
Instructions for Construction
Bend the noodle into a circle and tape the ends together
Tape the noodle ring to a door or well at the appropriate height for your learner.
Modifications of Equipment
Challenge successful learners by making the hoop smaller and taller.
Tape "official basketball boundaries" in areas around the hoop to help teach them to the aspects to the game of basketball (Free Throw Line, 3-Point Line, etc.).
Use the "Handprint Basketball" idea for beginning learners to teach them correct hand placement on the ball.
