Bell Ball

Uses

• Use this piece of equipent for learners with visual impairments to serve as an auditory stimulus when practicing throwing and catching skills.
• This ball serves as a cheap alternative to most auditory balls that can be quiete costly.
• Hearing the object approach the learner allows for them to prepare and attempt to catch the ball with limited visibility.

Construction Materials

• Whiffle Ball
• Small Bells
• Knife or Scissors (if necessary)

Instructions for Construction

1. Make a small cut from one hole in the ball toward another (does not have to connect the hole; only cut as long as you need to).
2. Push bells into ball through this slot.
3. Play!

Modifications of Equipment

• Use other objects if you don't have bells (coins, washers, nuts, etc.).
• Combine with "Glow in the Dark Ball" and play in a dark room for fun and easier tracking for learners with limited hearing and/or visibility.
• Many pet toys are already created like this, see if you have one that's big enough to play catch.
