Carpet Putting Green

Uses

  • Practice your putting skills without going to the country club with this easy alternative to a putting green.
  • Be creative with this, there are many ideas to spice up your putting green or mini-golf course that are completely free!

Construction Materials

  • Long Piece of carpet (however large you'd like)
  • Pool Noodles
  • Duct Tape
  • Scissors or Carpenter Knife

Instructions for Construction

  1. Cut a 4-inch diameter hole in the carpet where you would like to shoot toward.
  2. Find as many pool noodles you'll need to cover the sides and end of the carpet slab.
  3. Slice down the entire side of each piece of the 3 pieces of carpet and wrap around the edges of the slab to create a wall.
  4. Place tape upside down in the whole to stop the ball once it hits the opening, to avoid it rolling out (since the whole is not deep).
  5. Optional: create miniature flag to place at the hole to help the learner find its location (see pictures).

Modifications of Equipment

  • Find and/or create other ideas for your putting green/mini-golf course.
      • alternatives for the hole: plastic cup, box with a hole, lego structure, tin can, etc.
      • place barriers around the playing area to challenge higher-skiller learners (bottles, toys, big rocks, etc.)
  • Use golfing resources published on this site to play with (PVC Putter, Tin Can Mallet, Water Bottle Putter, etc.)
  • Use rolled up towels and plankets to create a wall if you don't have any pool noodles.
