PURPOSES
To fulfill the National Administration Guidelines and the National Education Guidelines.
To ensure the Board maintains an ongoing programme of self review.
To promote the development of quality learning programmes for students.
To provide a focus for ongoing school development.
To recognise strengths and areas for future growth.
GUIDELINES
Self review is evident at all levels of the school. It is an ongoing process and will be a planned and regular part of the school’s operation.
The Board will review the school vision and charter every three years and the annual plan yearly.
A schedule for the regular review of policies and statements of intent relating to the NAGs is in place.
The Framework for Self Review will be followed for all reviews.
Reviews will be conducted in a professional and collaborative manner.
Trentham School sees self review as an ongoing process, incorporating: students, staff, leadership, BOT, community. A variety of consultation methods will be used. It will be planned and a regular part of the school’s operation.
The Board will monitor the implementation of self-review in the School through ongoing Principal’s reports, the Analysis of Variance, Annual Plan reviews, the Annual Report and the results of internal reviews.
The analysis of student progress and achievement data will be a component of reviews. School wide achievement data will be reported to the Board to track progress and achievement regarding cohorts, ethnicity and gender. Areas for improvement and actions for lifting achievement will be identified.
Review findings should lead to appropriate action to improve the quality of education offered at the school and to lead to improved learning outcomes for students.
