TRENTHAM SCHOOL STATEMENT OF INTENT
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

PURPOSES
Through the use of ICT we aim to make connections, share learning, and enhance learning opportunities in a supportive environment.
To integrate ICT tools across all curriculum areas.
To provide staff with access to up-to-date and appropriate resources.
To provide on-going professional learning opportunities for all staff.
To regularly maintain existing ICT equipment and continually upgrade equipment so that the hardware and software are appropriate to the school’s needs.
To give students skills, strategies and experiences to achieve success in the modern digital world.
GUIDELINES
Teachers will implement the Digital Technology Curriculum
Teachers will use ICT tools and teach ICT skills across all curriculum areas.
Staff will implement the ‘School Internet Use’ Statement of Intent.
Staff will have access to ICT resources that support effective teaching and learning and be provided with planned on-going and regular professional learning.
Staff will be kept informed of useful websites via the sharing of information at staff meetings, Gmail and Google Drive.
Cybersafety will be taught with students at all levels.
All classes will integrate school owned devices. Year 4/5/6 classes will offer BYOD and will use GAFE (Google Apps for Education) for teaching and learning programmes.
ICT leaders will be responsible for purchasing and pushing out curriculum-specific software/apps.
Staff will email the ICT lead to advise of faulty ICT issues for the ICT committee or technician to action.
Staff will notify the person in charge of the inventory of the relocation of any ICT equipment.
The purchase and maintenance of ICT equipment will be budgeted for each year.
All Year 4-6 students will have a Google account. This will be active for up to one year after they leave Trentham School.
