PURPOSES
1. To help students achieve technological literacy through:
· Technological practice – students will investigate issues and existing outcomes and use this knowledge to inform their own practice
· Technological knowledge – students will learn about how and why things work
· Nature of technology – students will learn to critique the impact of technology on societies and environments
2. To equip students to become informed, critical, & creative citizens and prepare them for an ever changing future.
3. To develop students’ capability to create digital technologies for specific purposes developing the knowledge and skills they need as digital citizens.
GUIDELINES
Integrate the achievement objectives used in the following technological areas in all teaching and learning programmes:
Designing and developing materials outcomes
Designing and developing processed outcomes
Design and visual communication
Build each year on work towards progress outcomes in computational thinking for digital technologies and designing and developing digital outcomes in order to ensure learners achieve all of the significant learning steps.
Students will be taught safe practices appropriate to their level.
