A Happy Dream

Paper, graphite pencils, sharpie, markers

For my final piece, I decided to make it very colorful so it would stand out. I also had a dream a while ago that had bright colors and landscaping similar to this piece so I got my inspiration from that dream and also named it after it. The rainbow is actually the shoelace from my shoe drawing and a few of the other lines in this drawing were also from the shoe drawing, but I added a lot of lines and shapes to make it all come together for the final product. This project is a little bit abstract along with the realistic details to it just because of the original shoe drawing in the beginning. This project relates to my life because I really like the vibe it gives off and the colors that make it bright.

For this project I used paper, graphite pencils, markers, and sharpie. I started off with just sketching the details in with a 2H pencil so I could easily erase anything if I messed up. Then, once I got all of the details in, I went over the pencil marks with sharpie to make my lines bold and final. I sued a small sharpie for the smaller details so it wouldn't look messy in the end. My last material that I used was markers. I used very colorful markers to add to the brightness of the piece.

This project was very fun for me because I really enjoy the more creative art projects. I first chose the zoomed in shoe drawing with the least lines because I wanted to add as much creativity and new lines to it as I could. Once I copied that down an enlarged it on to my paper, I decided what each part of the drawing reminded me of or what I could turn it in to. I then decided to make a cute garden at the bottom and from there I added creative and colorful parts to the drawing that I thought made sense and fit the same vibe as the garden. My project definitely evolved when I added color and more lines because it started off as a part of my shoe and ended in something completely opposite to that. My next steps to this piece could be adding even more details to make it more creative, but I feel like that might be difficult due to the fact that I completely filled this piece with color leaving no space to add things unless I overlap color.
