In this project, it was important that the lines were final and in bold because it was a pure contour project which also meant there should be no wispy lines or shading. Everything that I drew for this project belonged to me so I could have no reference and I just had to draw exactly what I saw in front of me.

To create this piece, the only materials I used were paper, and graphite pencils. I first drew the drawings with a lighter pencil so I could easily erase if I made a mistake. I then when over my drawing with a softer graphite pencil so the lines were bold and pure.

I had to experiment a lot with the concept of lines because it is hard for me to just draw an object in front of me exactly how it looks. The shoe had a lot of different lines and shapes so it was difficult but also a fun challenge to draw the lines correctly. My project evolved when I added the darker and softer pencil because it added line weight and made the lines more pure to complete the concept of the project. My next steps to this project could maybe be adding more detail to the specific ways the lines move and the different shapes made by the position of the shoe.
