The idea in this piece was to create a self portrait of myself. Creating features that look like mine is a challenge for me so this was hard. This piece relates to me because it's a drawing of me and that is the main focus. The only material I used to draw this was a graphite pencil and I didn't add any color. I had to experiment a lot with shapes and lines in this piece because since it's my face, it's different than anybody else, so I had to create the specific shapes and proportions that fit my features. My piece evolved as I went on because once I added more features, it started to make more sense. I think the next step for this piece could be adding more detail and making it look more like me because we only had twenty minutes to draw this and it's hard to make it look like me.
My idea for this piece was to draw a corner as best as I could. It is hard for me to draw things like corners. I wanted to include all of the details of the objects in the corner to my drawing. This corner is the front right corner of the art room. I ended up drawing it much smaller than it actually is. I like this piece because it's kind of random and I like drawing random things. I only used a graphite pencil for this piece because I like the simple look of it other than adding a bunch of color. This drawing included a lot of lines because it is a corner so it was really hard for me to do that. The objects in the drawing also have a specific form and place so I needed to make them look right in their place. This project evolved as I added more objects so there was more to look around at so it wasn't boring. I think I could add more lines and details to make it look more like a corner if I were to keep drawing on this piece.
My goal and idea for this piece was to replicate the object as much as I could. This plant is my sisters and she left for college, so it is dying and I wanted to make it look like the shape that it is in real life. I think this project relates to my life because I was sad when my sister left for college and it kind of shows that this plant is too. It also is a plant in my house and not just a random object in the classroom. I only used a graphite pencil for this piece because I made it simple and not very complex. This piece included having to create a lot of odd shapes and textures which was a little difficult. My project evolved when I added textures and shading to the stems and leaves and dirt. I also like the flower on the front of the pot that I included. The next step that I could take could be adding color and specific shading to certain places.
