Extended Blind Contour

Abstract Color Girls

Paper, graphite pencils, markers

9" x 12"

In this piece, you can defiantly see the faces that I made when we were drawing the blind contour. You can also see amount of color I added to keep it from staying blank and add some complexity to it. At first, this project was something that we were told to draw without looking, but in the end it came out as something that I personally like because of the colors and I also like how it looks really different and is unique to just a regular pencil sketch.

The only materials I used for this piece was a graphite pencil, paper, and markers. I also used people for reference while drawing the blind contour.

One really evident process that I used for this piece was color. I saw the way older students and artist like Pablo Picasso incorporate color into their art and I really liked the way it they turned out so I decided to just start coloring random things and see what it would look like in the end. There is also a lot of line that I created when I was drawing the blind contour which I had duplicate in order for the piece to make sense. My project definitely evolved when I added color. If I were to keep going on this piece I woul add more ligns and colors and incoorperate the smaller head at the bottom into the piece more.
