To first understand the importance of student voice we first must know what it is. Student voice refers to the values, opinions, beliefs, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds of individual students and groups of students in a school, and to instructional approaches and techniques that are based on student choices, interests, passions, and ambitions (Enriching Students, 2017). Students deserve to feel like their wants and desires matter to others. It lets them be a part of a community. This helps them in so many ways both academically and personally. They deserve to be apart of the educational community and be apart of the discussions that affect them.
