Having a discussion with your children is a great way to bond however there are some subjects that are often difficult to talk about. The subjects of death, sexuality, gun-violence, addiction, racism, and terrorism are often hard for children to understand. Children need to understand these issues but as the subject are hard to about it can hard to give them the information they need. While our minds are trying to understand the chaos of the world around us it’s often hard to put the subject in words that won’t scare or confuse the kids. It’s important to keep things simple yet also informative. If it is a talk where questions might ask be sure to look up some information so it is handy. Don’t worry about things going perfectly instead just be there for the child as they ask questions.
