It’s important that schools develop good mentorship programs for both educators and students. Educators, especially those in their first year, can really benefit from working with more experienced colleagues. They can bounce ideas off one another and share their experiences which can help them. It can allow for them to get out of their comfort zone and learn things from one another. Students, especially high schoolers, can really benefit from having a mentor from the community to help show them ropes in a career that they have interest in as well as guide them a little bit. This will help the student understand the career they have an interest in as well as show them what they need to do to become a part of it.
