Creating A Better World For Our Kids

It’s almost a new year, which is a time of reflection. This past year has seen a lot of ups and downs for many of us. We have seen many changes happening all over the world which might have us thinking about how those changes might affect our kids. It might have us wondering what kind of world they’ll one day inherit. In wondering about all of this let’s do what we can to change the world in ways that’ll create changes that will positively affect their future.

In such a divided world we must find ways to create a world that allows kids to thrive. To do this we must first realize the fact that we are all role models to kids. They are watching us and learning from our every move, whether positive or negative. Another thing that is very important is the fact that we should never take your pain out on our kids as they do not deserve that.

To help kids thrive it is vital that we create safe places for kids where they can express their emotions in a safe way. This place should allow them to develop positive emotional intelligence and communication skills. It should allow them to learn ways to disagree with someone in a calm and productive manner that allows them to find common ground. In this safe place, we must allow them to find and pursue things that they are passionate about. They need to know that their likes and desires matter to us.
