The Special Tracks installer of October had a bug, some buttons were missing. The bug is obviously fixed now. The new installer contains 26 Special tracks, download address: www.supreme-snowboarding.tk.

P.S.: Tito made 1.23.93 at Alpine Easy. Unbelievable. :bulb:

Get the resolution higher

I noticed that in the txt file in the day time, there is a max points per line.

The value is 1024.

I tried to change that, but no visible effects. I also tried to set the size of the track 5 times bigger than usual, bot too much clipping...

Also

_distance_1__ = 40;

_distance_2__ = 80;

_distance_3__ = 120;

_distance_4__ = 180;

_distance_5__ = 220;

These distances are used by the game for the ground resolution. From 0-40, the ground is very high def

40-80, high def

80-120 med def

120-180 low def

180-220 very low

Perhaps these values are already chnger (by me). The bigger differance is between 1and2, perhaps 3.

When everything is discovered, there is still undiscovered things !

It looks a bit like my "learning maps", transformated in "High-Speed" :p .

And a question now :

Where did you get the official 'aja editor' manual ?

I never heard about it !

Indeed!

The new track is already in the new Special tracks installer. But maybe someone can make the track better?

The editor manual was and is at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk, Cheats page at "Tips & Tricks".

Unfortunately some understand the procedure, but some not. I don't. :(

What I found out: You have to use the Full version of the game, in the Fullscreen mode. But when it comes to creating or modifying a landscape...

I think we need a Wiki.

Hi People,

After hours of searching on the net i finally found this forum and have some questions which i desperatly need an answer for ?

I have designed some new boards can but cannot find a ****ing way to include them right into the game WITHOUT replacing any of the existing boards ? Anybody done it yet and knows the trick ?

( I have tried adding the board to Avaible_Boards and board_types as Board_14, 15 etc. it just doesnt work !! ) What other files are there concerning the boards ?

So: same issue with new characters... (NOT replacing existing ones)

Thanks People,

Flo

Hi Flo,

in order to add boards, you have to edit and boost this files:

\Saved_Data\Available_Boards.txt

\Data\Boards\board_types.txt

So you can easily have 100 boards - or "delete" boards you don't like.

Adding or changing a character is not possible, if you are not a programmer of the original game. You can only change clothes, e.g. with Photoshop, and some parameters of the existing characters, which is cheating (frowned upon hardcore users).

Maybe you can learn from this file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=57NEIBS0

Don't forget to upload your new stuff. :-)

Thank you, i found the error.. you have to add the new boards to the top (before board_1) of the code avaiable boards .. to make it work

Has anybody found out a way, to convert or add .adp music files ? the link to the converter or whatever it was is GONE! I desperatly need it ..

Still continueing to search the web for an answer.. ;)

Please help,

Music converter? www.supreme-snowboarding.tk / Add-on / follow the link!

New boards don't have to be at the top (before Board_1) of the files \Saved_Data\Available_Boards.txt and \Data\Boards\board_types.txt! They just have to be there. Usually all boards are sorted by number, beginning with Board_1.

Thank you so much glad this thread is still alive !

I will follow your info another question i have is concerning the HX files any news on them ?

I wrote Hybrid - Graphics in order to get a copy of the outdated SURRENDER3d maybe i have luck and they release it or give me a copy..

The Reason why i need all this info is because i am planning a BIG mod for Supreme Snowboarding.. what i have finished till now is HUGE (ca.4080x1900,cut apart) new BG images (finished and in the game they look stunning), completely new textures (all of them 512x512) for the complete "Alpine" Level and Objects and various graphic-tweaks.

So: Another Important thing i want to do is add new Menu sub_categories for a new environment like "Japan" or something like that .. i have ****ed arround a long time searching thorugh the code and found all ID..thingies concerning tracks.. also edited the .txt files, added parts for the new track but somehow the "Button" is not recognized and when SS comes to displaying the "Track_menu" it quits with an error message that some normal image in a E:\work directory wasnt found .. this is very confusing and hard to explain.. but maybe yes you can still help me

I think that i need surrender to edit the missing parts which create the error but maybe there is another way to do it

The whole purpose would be:

Others or i myself could create new tracks and add them to the game without "overwriting" the default tracks which is in my eyes a ****ty thing.

I would love to develop new texture maps which could be used in the new levels/environments.

This would give the game what it lecks most..

Greets,

Flo

Big aims, Flo ...

Do you know the file "SSB Visual Pack by sYs.rar"? It's just for learning purposes, and it is here. And maybe you can learn from the "Modification 2006" and from Nearlucid's files.

Surrender 3D is the tool inside of the game!

Adding tracks without overwriting existing tracks: This would be possible only with the full source code. But the full source code is gone... Jille tried to get it some time ago, but got only parts.

Hi Rubin somehow the music doesnt work...

just.. silence during the game but i have done everything exaclty like the readme stated.

If i replace the menu.adp with a track i created from a raw 16-bit/pcm it plays it half as fast in the game .. any clues ?

I guess it has to do with the khz .. since i tried out playing my custom .adp at 22050 via the player in the zip

and that makes it exac. 1/2 slower like at the menu screen. I also tried setting the value mix_rate in the sound config to 44100 which also didnt help :(

I realy want this to work !

music?

i have added music to the game YEARS ago.

i had listed , very early in this thread, where to download the music player/converter, and posted a simple help file how to do it.

did anyone out there get a copy? i switched my isp, try:

http://members.cox.net/jfguarino

you will have to edit the 'net address' because i failed to edit my menu. look at the status bar and you will see the old address, use the new http stuff along with the name of the file to download.

for example: add "/music.zip" to the above address to get the music thing.

it is still the same old stuff. all my editing has made portability useless. i reworked the whole game directory structure to eliminate all the duplicate entries, that is, put all the buildings in one place, fences in another, terrain in its own, etc. etc. . doing this i also reworked some of the errors in the 'object' files, ie. the fire on the pole (topula?)

not to make excuses, but the way i have 'played' with the game has made sharing a pain in the a$$.

sorry

Re: (To fjguarino and Flo)

Hi fjguarino, I would not have uploaded (or upload) the old stuff, because:

(1) your original track is not bug-fixed (old map, no safety paths for falls, checkpoint missing, Finish line don't fit the Finish flag, less cameras, and more).

(2) a bug-fixed (by mk, akkico, Caron) version of your track and bzracers track (with improved map.tga by mk) are in the Special Tracks installer at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk.

(3) both tracks (old versions) are together 16 MB at your site, while you have to download only 13 MB at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk in order to get your two tracks (the improved versions) plus 25 other tracks = total 27 tracks.

(4) your original track contains wrong Replay files.

(5) Sharereactor link confuses. I still cannot open this page.

The rest of the stuff is okay. But you did not update your page for nearly 4 years. So I would not recommend your page, as it is now.

The file music.zip, containing the adp converter, can now be found via www.supreme-snowboarding.tk / "Add-on".

A usual command to convert a wav file to adp with adpcm.exe (example):

adpcm e "The Beatles, Yesterday.wav" "The Beatles, Yesterday.adp" 2 44100.

If you have mp3 files, first convert them to wav (e.g. with CDex), then to adp.

The command above is the command for all the music in the game, EXCEPT the menu.adp (different speed). Information on creating your own menu.adp will follow later.

If you don't hear music in the game, although you started the game with enabled sound (start window), please check the Sound options of the game. Go to the main menu of the game, then choose "Options", then "Sound", then "Sound Volume" and "Music Volume".

If you add new music to game (= your self-made adp files), don't forget to put it to the right directory, for example C:\Data\Music, and to add your music to the file (game directory)\Data\Music\music_config.txt. Note that there have to be two different directories with the same name "Data"!

More questions? I can recommend www.supreme-snowboarding.tk again, where you can find "Support".

Convert your own music to adp for the game

Yesterday I wrote that the command to convert your own music from wav to adp is (as an example):

adpcm e "The Beatles, Yesterday.wav" "The Beatles, Yesterday.adp" 2 44100

Before running adpcm.exe, your files and adpcm.exe have to be in the same directory. I recommend the Total Commander to manage your file.

Yesterday I explained that the file menu.adp (= the music in the menu) has a different speed. The menu.adp is exactly twice as fast as all other music files.

So you need some steps more to create your own menu.adp:

(1) First you have to convert your mp3 file to wav, for example with CDex.

(2) Then you have to double the speed of your original music file = the music file which shall be your music in the menu. I recommend "Cool Edit 96". Open Cool Edit with the following two options:

1 - Save, External Clipboard Functionality and Sample Converting

3 - Stretching, PCM Music Generation and DTMF (Telephone) Tones

Open your wav file in Cool Edit 96, then click through the menu of CoolEdit:

Transform - Time/Pitch - Stretch - Ratio: 50 - OK - File - Save As - menu.wav - Save

(3) Afterwards create your own menu.adp with adpcm.exe. Type:

adpcm e menu.wav menu.adp 2 44100

(4) Copy your new menu.adp to the game folder \Data\Music.

(5) Start the game and check the Sound options! You should already hear your own music in the menu of the game.

The adpcm music converter (including an updated manual) is here:

http://freenet-homepage.de/supreme-s...rding/download

i'm slow

rubin,

you are correct. all that i have to share is VERY old.

i have been trying to 'reverse engineer' the main code in order to add tracks

without the "over writing" plus some of the other options that are embedded but not fully implemented. (there was supposed to bo MOVING cars on the roads along with the other items i mentioned in the past.)

i seldom actually play the game (only to test changes). i have been spending to much time (my choice) 'binary editing' the code to change things. i get going, think something is going to happen, then just get pi$$ed off and quit. source code, or even the game development error handling routines would be nice. (has anyone got the grandma reference?

Open it with 3D object converter. Export with "Blender's Videoscape 3D dialect (*.obj)" format.

In Blender, in the Import menu, clic on the Viderscape button. Select your obj file, and mod it !

I will try to poligonize ( ) Vincent Reno.

EDIT:I cant find the right format for the export. There is no input for SurRender 3D, BoarderZone, Supreme Snow, Umbra. No *.HX extension in the details, between the "(" and ")".

EDIT2:I have sent a mail to the program creator. The software only LOAD the HX files, but can't save.

I have a problem... I can't open .hx file with 3D object converter. I aslo tried "Batch converting".. but there are no .obj files converted in directory i have chosen.

Code:

Conversion started on 6.12.2006 at 15:54:54

Unrecognised file: D:\Igre\Supreme\Data\Characters\Vincent\vincent.hx

Conversion finished on 6.12.2006 at 15:54:54

Yes, I think so. Try the options at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk / "Tips & Tricks" / second page: "Startup Failures".

Mostly it is the Fullscreen mode which causes crashes. It is highly recommended to start the game with "DirectX6".

The beta version of the Snowpark installer is already linked on this page (this Atari thread). The final version is announced to be linked at www.supreme-snowboarding.tk on December 20, 2006.

Oh, that's for "insiders". :-)

It seems to me that the latest 3D Object Converter does not longer open HX files. The old 3D Object Converter did open HX files - but changing/saving was not possible.

However: we need a tool to open, change and save HX files, e.g. in order to create some new creatures, erm, characters. One step smaller: I would like to modify the head of Keith...

Mata

12-11-2006 02:30 PM

It would be nice if you can choose goggles and helmets or something like that (more realistic).

...

Can you export *.hx files in Surrender 3D??

If someone has Surrender we can send him modified character in different format and he will export them in *.hx format and send file back.

And sorry for my bad English:D

What is Surrender 3D?

Surrender 3D is the tool inside of the game! (Cheat "aja", and then button "e" to start it up)

I never heard of any other Surrender 3D. Nobody has it. And there is no single link in the internet. This Surrender 3D is like the Abominable Snowman (the Yeti): everybody knows him, but nobody has ever seen him, just seen some traces. And so is Surrender 3D.

It is not possible with the inside-game-Surrender3D to modify characters, or hx files. Or is there anyone saying that I am wrong?

xinfe

12-11-2006 06:29 PM

As Mata, I have understood that Surrender 3D was a 3D tool (internal to infogrames) to create some 3D objects.

What's more, I think that the version of Surrender 3 was with a special plugin to export 3D HX. I don't think that I explain well...

And choosing something or another one means a change of the menu structure, call new objects, new paths...

I don't thinkg that it is possible without creating a whole game (or taking the source code of Supreme).

Perhaps it's that, the following of Supreme ! An open source 3D ski/snowboard game running on all platforms ! Perhaps...perhaps...

If you want, I know how to mod objects, to do armatures, uvmapping, and animation; I learnt a bit of Python (programming); and also knows things in Flash, HTML, networking (a very little bit), cvs; and it would be a great challenge (for a 17 years little person like me :D )

It's your turn to talk !!!
