Oh okay... then I can't make a pipe... mmmh... I tried by editing targa height files, had the shape of a pipe but couldn't make it :p

I tried too to edit the original half-pipes and when you make the edge of the pipe at the same height of the bottom, it changes nothing to the use you can make of it... It's like u're riding on something unvisible... And it's not made of fencer or what...

raaah that's too bad...

you say you tried to edit the height (tga) files? which one? all my height files are binary (bin). do you have a converter?

targagaga

nop I have no convertor and don't know if it exists but you can edit the "Resource_Config.txt" and put a file for the "height_map_file". This file must be a size multiple of 32 and the height is determined trough the contrast. If it's black, it's low, if it's white, it's high. You will perhaps to change the "height_map_delta_file" and "profile_map_file" if the game gives you a fockin kernel error while charging your map. these two others files show the basic shape of your map and have to be a multiple of 32 too ("profile_map_file" can be 96*96 it's sufficiant).

In the editor, when you use "magic erase", it gives back the height shape based on the data of the "height_map_file".

Then you can make new size of map!!!!! It's wonderful to have a blank map where all you do is new and not based on an existing map =D

enjoy it ;) (and i hope my english isn't that hard to understand =P)

tga height map

thanks nardich.

this make the editing easier for me.

how did you figure it out? that is, what made you think of trying to adding a tga file for the height and add a change to 'config' file?

Oh... nothing special =P but since a lot of games use targa files and boarder zone uses both targa and bin, and material's data are in targa files I wondered if I could replace bin by targa, and after a lot of tries and a lot of "kernel error", i managed to make the map i wanted =D...

But I haven't got many time this time and my map doesn't progress =(

If you have any other information to ask me for, I can try to answer ;)

bye

I think 'F4' does frame grabs, there should be a reference to this issue in one of my earliest posts.

(first page if showing 20+ lines of the thread.)

what'up

looking at the number of views and replies to this thread, (top of the list for both) i am wondering if anyone at atari/infogrames is paying attention.

it would be so easy for them to improve/add to this game. i don't mean come out with a new version, like their failed attempt with the console games(transworld sports), but build off this one.

Challenger8,

Is there an "official" website with information on Boarder Zone?

(Google seems to indicate that there was one on www.infogrames.net but it doesn't appear to exist anymore).

Thanx Challenger8.

I'll have to download the demo and give it a try.

With the ability to change tracks and players, etc. in the demo now, what are the differences between the demo and the full version (if I could ever find it around here)?

And, was it Atari/Infogrames that arranged for the distribution of Boader Zone in SFT? I'm sure there are magazines that would be willing to distribute Falcon4.0/SP4. Feel free to PM or e-mail me any details you might know. Thank you.

[Edit: For perspective, Falcon4.0 sales are about 2/3 of what you quote for Boader Zone: 800,000 retail sales]

Nice Work

Thanks to all for all the additions to the game.

It would have been nice if the original developers put in the same effort.

How can mods be sent to you if you don't accept e-mail or PMs from this forum?

(I don't really have a mod for you guys - yet (possibly) - but rather some questions ... see other thread)
