Re: new boards, player clothing, tracks
ATTN: JOECOOL
Did you ever use the the site:
<<dead>> http://surf.to/s-snowboarding <<dead>> by martin larsson that had new boards, player clothing,
and tracks that could be downloaded.
to get any of the available downloads for 'Supreme Snowboarding' and 'Boarder Zone', and do you know if any of the files are still available somewhere else?

Fog option
How do I enable the 'Fog' effect.
I have seen references to this but there is no button, in graphics menu, to turn the fog effect on.

if you go into your bz-directory, open data and open detail_config.txt
look for
enable_fog = 0;
and try to set it to 1
maybe it will work. with my graphic-card it doesn't

 works if use directx6 only.
 tried with directx7a (as supplied with the game) but only got scrambled ground textures, that is, the ground is made up of flashing triangles.
 wish there was a way to fix this but alas, infogrames has abandoned this game.

FIX IT!!
I wish this game would get fixed.
It needs patches/updates to make it more compatible with the new video cards and operating systems.
Mainly, I would like it to be compatible with directx8 which would resolve most of the winXP problems.

It's a dam shame that the staff at infogrames are so lame that the can't update this game.

HELP
HELP
I tried upgrading my computer {I installed directx8 and new *certified* video and sound drivers.} inorder to resolve some video and sound problems with 'boarder zone' but now the game will not run at all.
How do I go back to the original settings and just deal with the problems but still play the game?

DirectX
As far as I know the game does not work with DirectX 8, try with DirectX 6 or 7.

thanks for the info

i want to thank all those who submitted information on how to alter the tracks.
i had become bored with the included tracks, but now that i can create my own, this game has become, for me at least, a real challenge.

how?
what is your resolution/color depth settings and what setting do you select when you start the game ? (directx6, directx7, or directx8)
also, do you have the option of using the OpenGL or Glide3d rendering drivers?

1024 16bit
there is only the option dx6 or dx7 and i set it to dx7
the rendering drivers are set to "nvidia(unindentified)"
and everything works fine. even though i have dx8.

The only problem is that the the game is not using the hardware acceleration capabilities of your video card.
I ran a test between two computers, both identical except for the video card.
The computer with a 8MB Voodoo Banshee (1x) card (listed correctly) was faster than the second computer that has a 32MB Nvidia GeForce2-TNT (4x) video card (listed as unidentified).
The computer with the Banshee card ran smoothly at all but the highest resolution and color depth settings but the Nvidia card system had problems running at the setting equal to the highest setting the Banshee could run. (choppy and artifacts in the display.)
