Board Meeting

FINALLY!

The weather has improved and Covid-19 restrictions are being relaxed. For the FIRST time in over a year we were able to meet to in person at Riverview Park for our May Board Meeting.

Great to see everyone again!

Lion Vern collects some pass Pot 'o Silver debts.

Let's get this meeting going.

Lion Prez, Carrie brings the meeting to order.

We begin the meeting singing "My Country Tis of Thee" and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Lion Dennis leads us in the Blessing.

Lion Carrie gave her report and also updated us on future events.

Lion Ed reminded us of the up coming workday at Lion's Park Beach and Tiscornia Park.

We were honored to have District 11-B2 Zone 4 Chairperson, Lion Carol Young and her hisband . She reported on past and future District activities.

Lion Gordy took meticulous notes as he is this month's Claw editor.

Lion Vern attempted to be guest treasurer today.

Lion Larry Wagner reported that our club collected over 3,500 used eyglasses for the Great Eye Glass Challenge.  Over all our Lion District collected 40,000 pairs of glasses that will be provided to people in third world countries.

Lion Ron reminded us to let him know how many will be attending the picnic after our beach cleanup.

Lion Tom Gazella reminded members that we would be collecting for White Can on May 28 & 29 in D0wntown St. Joseph.

Lion Ron reported that the Mergenthaler Committee has interviewed the applicants and will be announcing the recipients in the near future.

Lion Larry Morrow also informed us that his committee will soon announce the  recipients of our St. Joseph Lion's Club Scholarship.

Lion Vern told us about the two new fund raising projects we will undertake to help support our club's community outreach.

Lion Ron asks, "Hey Lion Tom, How much is in that Pot 'o Silver?"

Lion Tom answers that Pot has really grown because no one has won it in quite a few weeks.

Lion Zone chair, Carol, draws this week's non-winner. The pot increases. You have to be here to win.

Lion Carrie gavels the meeting to a close.

In Memoriam

Unfortunately we lost Lion Hank Richmond this year. Lion Ed Heiden and his wife accompanied Hank's family to Washington D.C. where Lion Hank was buried at Arlington Cemetery. Thanks for your service and RIP Lion Hank, you are missed.
