August 27,2020 Zoom Meeting

Our August 27th meeting was, once again, conducted via "Zoom". The really good news coming out of today's meeting is that we will attempt to hold our next Board Meeting in person at Rivervi Park. We will, of course, practice social distancing and wear masks at this outdoor neeting. We look forward to seeing each other in person again. Below are some screen shots of today's meeting.

Lion Dennis played  this redition by the United States Navy Band Sea Chanters chorus of My Country Tis of Thee. If you haven't heard this rendition, it is well worth your time to view this video.
Lion Dan led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the blessing.
We once again demonstarted our Lions Pride by geting to know each other a little better. Today's Lion Pride speakers were Lion Tom Gazella and Lion Gordy Schreiber. We learned a few things we didn't know about these Lions and Lion Gordy left us with a mystry about him to solve.

As you can see, Lion Prez Carrie takes her job seriously as she gives her presdent's report.
Lion Tail Twister Tom tells us the cat is lonely because noone is feeding it with fines.
However, Lion Tail Twister Tom has his list made out for when we cnoee back togeter, face-to-face,  for those who owe fines.
Lion Lion Tamer Allen challenges us with his trivia question.
Our main speaker today was Dr. Andrae Townsel, new superintendent of the Benton Harbor Area Schools. He talked about the challenges facing the school district, especilly now during this pandemic, and his plans for moving the District forward during these trying times. We welcme Dr. Townslel to the area.
Lion Ren along with other Lions, asked Dr. Townsel about the plans for opening schools this year and his goals for the District.
Lion Vern asked Lion Tom, "how much is in the Pot 'o Silver?"  Keeper of the Pot, Lion Tom told us the Pot is growing becaus no one has one it lately. Lion Vern then virtually drew the name of this week's winner, it was Lion Hugh Black, who was not eligieble because he didn't atten the last meeting. So sorry Lion Hugh -"LOSER". The Pot keeps growing.
It looks like Lion Allen is definitely ready for an in-person meeting on September 10, 2020. He hopes to see you all there.
