Board Meeting

YES! another Zoom board meeting. Unfortunately we are getting used to meeting this way and can't wait to get back to face-to-face meetings. Committee  reports today were short and to the point. That left us with plenty of time to do some "brainstorming" about how we could  continue to serve our community in this time of need.  Our main focus is to find ways we can continue to fund the various projects that are so important to the Lions and the community. We are also looking for opportunities that, we, as Lions, can assist  by donating our time and efforsts.

A group photo of today's attendees.

Spotted before the meeting - Lion Dan enjoying his ice cream. Did this Lion capture those animals hanging on his wall?

Lion president Carrie opens the meeting.

After singing "My Country Tis of Thee" Lions said the Pledge of Allegiance.

Lion Vern leads us in the blessing.

Lion Carrie encouraged all of us to be thinking about new ways that Lions can serve the community. She also read a leter from a former St. Joseph High  School Studnet telling us how much he appreciated his interaction with the St. Joseph Lions during his high school years.

We approved Lion Ed's secretary report. He reoorted that we received a thank you letter from the Good Felleows Fund for the Cllub's genorous donation.

Camera Shy Lion Micah presented his treasuer's report. We're still in good shape. We also congratulated him on his recent engagment.

Membership chair, Lion Dan presented for membership, Rhonda Wilson-Strasser, who ,after viewing our social media, requested to become a member. The club accepted her application  and hope to induct her at our next meeting.

Lion Larry reported that we are still collecting unused eyeglasses. We presently have quite a few to contribute to the eyeglass challenge but could use more.

Lion Vern said that we hope to resume our Arts & Craft Show next November. So far we have received 84 applicationions for the show.

Lion Ron reported that they are in the process of getting the news out about the Mergenthaller Scholarship Program. The committee hopes to update the brochure.

Welcome back Lion larry Morrow, chair of our Youth & Education Committee. We have not been able to welcomed a high school student to our club meetings since last March. He will attempt to select a Lion Studnet of the Month to  join us via Zoom for our next regular meeting.

Lion Larry Kramp keeps us informed of what's going on with other Lion clubs in the district.

It was great to have Lion Jerry Farwell and his wife join us for today's meeting. He sure looks happy to be attending.

Lion Vern, once again, informs us that there was no winner for the Pot 'o Silver.

OK Lion Dennis, the meeting is over, yuou can take off your ear muffs.

Lions District 11-B2 held its first " Happy Hour" Zoom get together for all distrcut Lion Clubs.
