Decembe 10, 2020 Baord Meeting

Another Pandemic Zoom Meeting is in the books. So glad for this technology that allows us to still meet together.

The meeting began with the singing “My Country Tis of Thee”, the Pledge of Allegiance and the Blessing.  We heard from Lion President Carrie, Lion Secretary Ed, and substitute treasurer, Lion Ren.  It looks like the club is in good shape in spite of this Pandemic. Lion Ed reported that he received a card from Lory’s Place thanking us for our support.

We were successful in raising enough money for White Cane through limited street solicitations, and new on-line and mail solicitation efforts. Because of the generosity of the community to the sale, today we were able to donate to Lory’s Place, Good Fellows Fund, and the Emergency Homeless Shelter. We also forwarded our yearly monetary commitment to the St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation for the Edward J. Todd Innovation Center. These are some of the ways WE SERVE our community.

Our major fundraiser(the Arts & Craft Show) was cancelled this year because of the Pandemic. It was suggested that we should investigate other major fundraising opportunities which would help us not have to rely on one major fundraiser.  Members suggested some interesting possibilities and it was decided that we should seriously look into them.

We ended the meeting with our traditional Pot o' Silver drawing. There was no winner from last week. This week’s winner was Lion Chad. He was not in attendance today(so sad), so the Pot grows.

Unfortunately we cannot hold our annual Christmas Dinner this year so we will hold a “virtual” Christmas meeting next week. Hope to see everyone there! Watch for Lion Carrie’s link to the meeting.
