Over the last18 years, the Saint Joseph Lions Club has been the proud sponsor of a middle school boys' basketball tournament. This event offers a wonderful platform for young athletes to engage in the camaraderie of team sports. Throughout this remarkable journey, we have facilitated the participation of around 2,100 talented athletes in a total of over 350 thrilling basketball games. This translates to an impressive annual average of 140 athletes and 21 exciting games for these budding sports stars.
Open exclusively to teams composed of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students from your school, our tournament welcomes up to 16 teams, categorized into four divisions reflective of skill levels. You can also form one or two teams with a combination of these grades. Within these divisions, every team engages in a series of three games, resulting in the crowning of four division champions. The key is that tese tema must be from your school. Adding to the excitement, we host a thrilling 3-point contest during the event.
It is a great way to get more games under MHSAA rules for your future teams.
To ensure fair play and professionalism, each game is officiated by certified MHSAA officials. We are deeply grateful for the generous donation of facility usage from St. Joseph High School. If you have questions on MHSAA rules and the tournament please ask.
The best part? 100% of the proceeds generated by this event go to support Camp Leo, a camp dedicated to enriching the lives of children with special needs. It's not just a tournament; it's a heartfelt endeavor to make a difference.
Furthermore, this tournament provides an excellent opportunity for your teams to gain more experience under MHSAA rules, offering a fantastic platform for their growth and development.
Invites will be sent out in early November. See you there!
