Board Meeting

Pretty nice weather today after a cold winter, maybe that's the reason we didn't have a Board Quorum today. However, we had lots of great discussion.

After starting the meeting, we did our normal opening procedure of honoring our country and giving the blessing.

Lion Prez, Carrie, in her report stated that we need to increase our use of  technology to preserve the history of the club and the way we do business. We will make this one of our goals.

Lion Ed presented his secretary's report.

Treasurer, Lion Micah reported we are still doing well despite the pandemic.

Lion Ron announced that we are now accepting applications for the Mergenthaler  Scholarship that our club manages.  Deadline is April 15, 2021.

He also announced that students, for the first time,  can apply for the scholarship on-line.

Lion Ed reported that the City of St. Joseph has requested that our club use our yearly donation to the city to help implement a new project for Whirlpool Field. Our support would help the city  as they apply for a grant to fund the major portion of the project. Those present  agreed this was a good project and we should give our support by committing to use our funds  and write a letter of support for the grant. Lion Prez will poll the board to see if they agree.

We have been researching additional ways to raise funds which assists us in our support to the community. Lion Bob suggested  the possibility of selling car wash tickets.

Lions Medo and Gazella have been researching the possibilty of selling BBQ dinner tickets. Sounds delicious.

Lion Vern brought up the possibilty of the club selling "Super Books". We agreed that all of these were good suggestions and will pursue them further.

As always, Lion Ron wanted to know, "How much is in that Pot

o Silver?"

Still camera shy, Lion Hanley, gave him the answer," the pot is still growing".

Oh NO! Lion Micah left the meeting early and his name was drawn. Sorry Lion Micaha, no winner today.
