The meeting today kicked off with Past President, Lion Tom Gazella, taking the chair in the absence of Lion Prez Dave, Lion 1st VP Chuck, 2nd VP Carrie and 3rd VP Dave(who wasn't quite ready to assume the chair). The meeting opened with a beautiful rendition of "My Country Tis of Thee" followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Tom led us in an inspirational prayer. During lunch, Lion Jim played DJ serenading us with some Big Band Music; they just don't write them like that anymore. Lion Vern, again, pushed his special Tail Twister "Big Game activity. Of course the Tail Twister was up to his normal tricks and Lion Tamer Micha challenged us with some Big Game trivia(we can't say Super Bowl). We also, once again, donated needed items to the Emergency Shelter.
Our program this week was delivered by the new Saint Joseph Public Schools superintendent, Dr. Thomas Bruce. Dr. Bruce introduced himself to us and told about the journey that led him to Saint Joseph. He also talked about his vision for Saint Joseph Schools. He said that the District is an excellent district and his goal is to keep the district moving forward to be in-line with the ever changing needs of our world. He is looking forward to workin with the school community as well as the community at large. We welcome Dr. Bruce to the community. As Lions we want to continue working with him in support of the Saint Joseph Publci Schools.
