Caramel Corn
Ingredients
1 c sugar
1/2 c light corn syrup
2 T molasses
2 T butter
1/2 c water
1 1/2 t vinegar
1/2 t baking soda
2 qt popped popcorn
Instructions
Dissolve sugar, corn syrup, molasses, butter, water, and vinegar. Boil to hard crackstage (300ºF). Add baking soda. Stir and pour over popcorn. Toss well and spread on buttered baking sheet to cool.
Peanuts may be added to popcorn.
Yield: 4 times the recipe above for 9 quarts.
