Ingredients
2 ½ c sifted flour
2 t baking soda
1 t ginger
1 t cinnamon
¼ t salt
½ c sugar
½ c molasses
½ c water
½ c shortening
1 egg
instructions
Sift flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt together. Cream shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses. Mix well and add dry ingredients alternating with water. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Yields 2-4 dozen soft cookies.
