1895 Dumas Street extends up to the left. What would living so close to the ore concentrator (left) have been like?
(#13) Dr. Miles Cottage might be the small bldg furthest up the hill. (#19) Pioneer's Market and (#2) Saloon and perhaps (#9) Royal Hotel are visible as well.

Dumas Street ... looking back at town from (perhaps) Mercedes street. Looks like we are above the (#20) Bartholomew house (left of and below center).
Is the white building at right the (#9) Royal Hotel? Monte Cristo Hotel and Kyes' store might be to our immediate right, but not in the picture.

Second from left is Martin Cummings (alias Count of Monte Cristo). Man on right is probably Josiah E. Spurr, geologist who conducted the geological survey in the area.
