The town is famed for its cheese, la Tome de Belley, also known as Chevret or still "Le pave d'Affinois". It is also at the centre of the Bugey wine region.
The town of Belley is crossed by a track called Véloroute Lake Geneva to the sea . This is a bicycle path which will connect the Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean Sea. More specifically, the trail runs along most of the time course of the Rhone. Such a course can also benefit from a low slope, making the track even more affordable for the general public 4 .
The distillery "Kario" organizes guided tours of the cellars with their old oak casks in which age and liqueurs marks, and the room stills .

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (as of October 30, 1906 30 ), the episcopal palace , attributed to Soufflot (since February 16, 1932 31 ) and the square in front of the cathedral (since December 18, 1944 32 ) are all three subject a classification as historical monuments .
Natural Heritage [ edit ]
Belley is a city with a flower bloom awarded by the National Council of Cities and villages in bloom in France in support of the towns and villages in bloom 33 .
The forest Rothon is a wooded area that includes an arboretum and three hiking trails.
