Salt marsh ... hiking, wildlife viewing
http://www.fws.gov/Nisqually/maps/nisqually_map.html
As of 8/1/2011, we've been here 3-4 times. It's a nice 5 mile walk (total) out to the end of the boardwalk and back.
We like to go to the forest path, then out to the marsh & boardwalk, then back past the barns (nice picnic area there) and back to the parking lot.
There's a day use fee of something like $3 or $4 per family .. my wife and I bought the year pass at $12 for the family.
The marsh is in transition ... the dikes were breached, so some of what was freshwater is reverting back to saltwater. Some of the area will remain as freshwater.
