Below is an announcement from the Lucas County Juvenile Court regarding the availability of independent contract mediator positions.
Please direct all your inquiries per the the instructions in the announcement.
----------------------------------------------------
Allow me to introduce myself.
After being an attorney in Lucas County Juvenile Court for over 40 years and the last 7 years as a contract mediator for the court, I am now the Court Family Services Administrator.
We are in need of independent contract mediators to handle school truancy cases, mediations where the juvenile is alleged to have committed domestic violence, as well as cases involving the allocation of parental rights and responsibilities (custody). You do not have to be an attorney to become a mediator.
Once trained, independent contract mediators are paid by the county for the cases that they handle.
If you, or someone that you know has already been trained and is ready, willing, and able to work as an independent contract mediator please contact me.
If you are interested in being trained as a mediator below is a link to the Ohio Supreme Court site for training. https://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/courts/services-to-courts/dispute-resolution/dispute-resolution-education
