Two Federal Judicial Vacancies & Opportunity To Apply for Appointments 

This is an announcement by the office of Ohio U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown regarding two federal judicial vacancies. According to the summary provided by the Ohio State Bar Association, "U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is calling for applications to fill two judicial vacancies in U.S. district courts — one in the Northern District of Ohio and one in the Southern District.  Aided by his bipartisan judicial advisory commission, Sen. Brown will recommend names to the Biden administration. The deadline to apply is Dec. 1, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. U.S. district courts are general trial courts that hear both civil and criminal cases. Judges are nominated by the President of the United States and must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. The Northern District of Ohio has court locations in Akron, Cleveland, Toledo and Youngstown and serves the approximately 5.9 million people of the 40 northernmost counties in Ohio. The Southern District of Ohio has court locations in Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton and serves the approximately 5 million people of the 48 southernmost counties in Ohio."
