Position Summary:

The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of the Office of Professional Development and the Assistant Dean, Law Career Services & Alumni Affairs in all aspects of administration, programming, and outreach functions for the Office of Professional Development. This includes, but is not limited to, providing career counseling and job search resources to students and alumni; learning and becoming a resource for the Symplicity internal database management system; posting employment opportunities; planning and implementing programming; assisting with the coordination of on-campus recruiting and resume collections; collecting and compiling necessary data from current and graduating students.  

Qualifications:

Required Education/experience/licensing:

Bachelor Degree, Juris Doctor, bar licensure;

Minimum of one year of law firm or legal organization experience;

Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, Access, Word, Power Point;

Willingness and ability to learn new web-based resources and instruct others.

Proficiency in locating internet resources and web-based information;

Occasional travel and irregular hours;

Must have valid driver's license.

Communication and other skills:

Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication skills;

Familiarity with legal employment market and strategies;

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with a diverse and wide range of people, including the practicing bench and bar;

Exemplary professionalism in dealing with confidential information;

Ability to multitask and work effectively in fast-paced environment;

Ability to project a positive attitude and professional image.
