Position Available: Law Clerk to Hon. Jeffrey J. Helmick

Hon. Jeffrey J. Helmick of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Ohio, Western Division, is accepting applications for a 16-month law clerk position to begin in May 2021. The position may be extended for an additional one-year term.

Prior judicial experience is strongly preferred, but not required. Some post-law school legal experience is required. Applicants must have taken a state bar examination prior to the beginning of the clerkship term. Additional preferred qualifications include: class standing in the top 33%, law review or other journal experience, and/or moot court experience.

Applications are accepted through OSCAR (Online System for Clerkship Application and Review) and considered on a rolling basis through November 14, 2020. Note: OSCAR is undergoing system maintenance until November 2nd.

Applicants must first create an account in OSCAR. Then applicants can access the posting and submit the following required materials: (1) cover letter, (2) resume, (3) two writing samples, (4) law school grade sheet, and (5) three letters of recommendation.
