Get Involved and Make a Difference for Afghan Families

The Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation have teamed up to raise awareness among the greater bar community, as well as to recruit and train attorneys who are willing to provide pro bono legal services to Afghan evacuees relocated to Ohio following the U.S. withdraw from their country in August.

No prior immigration law experience is required to be part of this unique service opportunity. You will walk away from this complimentary program well-informed and with the preliminary information you need to lend your support to these families. Not to mention, you’ll earn 1.5 hours of complimentary CLE credit.

After the training, you will be included on the list of volunteer Ohio attorneys willing to help. Volunteer matching with potential clients will be coordinated by the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation, working closely with local resettlement agencies.

All attorneys who agree to accept a pro bono case through this effort will be covered by the malpractice policy of one of the nonprofit agencies organizing the placements.
