Labyrinths and Mazes

Alternate Names

Mazes and labyrinths are technically two different things, although both can be described as a winding series of pathways that have a starting and ending point. Sadly, the English language does not have a word that collectively describes both mazes and labyrinths. A labyrinth may be thought of as a simplified version of a maze which has only one path through it. The one path through it will wind and turn, but a choice should never have to be made inside a labyrinth regarding which direction to turn.

History

At first it may seem odd to include them here as they are not board games per se, but their central idea of traversal carries over to traversal and attainment games. Any maze or labyrinth may be thought of as a precursor to games of attainment.
