Equipment

A 9x9 square grid and, theoretically, forty-one black counters and forty white counters, although usually far less are required.

History

This game has been published by Tedco, a toy and games producer, of Hagerstown, Indiana.

Objective

The first player to achieve a X formation of five friendly counters, at any place on the board, is the winner.

The X formation of five black counters wins the game for black.

The formation may be interrupted by friendly or opposing counters and still count for a win for black. In other words, the four cells at the middle of the sides of the formation need not be vacant.

Play

Players alternate placing a single counter on any vacant cell on the board, trying to be the first to achieve the above formation.
