To learn about Shodo
- Worksheet (Attachment 1)
- Blue tape
- Calligraphy paper
- Calligraphy pen or brush

- Newspaper (to protect the table)
- Paper towel (to clean up)

Print enough copies of the Worksheet and the Practice sheets
If time is a concern, you can tape newspaper on the tables and place brushes at each place for the students. Put ink in the bowl ahead of time.

Pass out the Practice sheets ahead of time. Show the Video and stop after each section for the students to practice.

- Draw Horizontal Lines (Ichi, Ni)
- Draw Circle (Clockwise)
- Draw Mountain
- Draw Water
- Conclude with Gassho
How did it feel? Did you like it? What character did you like?
This can be a two day or more lesson. In addition there are several more YouTube videos in this series which are quite good. The shodo results make a good display. (e.g. Hanamatsuri, Bodhi Day)
