Naikan Feud

Objective
Learning about 1st Eightfold Noble Path: "Seeing things as they are"
Materials:
Family Feud game powerpoint (optional; download from the internet)
Polling software (optional)
Preparation:
Naikan questions. (Students in Day #1 will come up with the exact questions)
1. What have I received from _______?
2. What have I given _______?
3. What trouble or difficulties have I caused for _______?
Poll the Sangha or Dharma School Students on these questions
Collate and rank the answers esp the top 5 or so.
Program the powerpoint with the questions and the top answers. (optional)
Method
This is a two week lesson.
First Sunday, introduce what Naikan is and the Naikan questions.
Remind the we don't ask "What difficulties (someone) has caused me?"
Ask them to choose a person for the blanks in the question and write down their answers to the 3 questions.
Discuss
Announce that we are collecting responses for a "Naikan Feud".
Have the students decide what the questions are going to be (they need to be a version of the Naikan questions). Have at least 4 questions.
On the second Sunday, remind the students about Naikan and the questions.
Play Naikan Feud
Discuss
Evaluation
During the final discussion, ask what was memorable? What was the most revealing/surprising question/answer?
