Parent's Day Activity (or recognize the important role model in alternative families) Focus on Questions 1 & 2 of the Naikan questions
Think about and make sushi (choose a easy-to-make sushi appropriate for the grade level) as a gift to their parent
Break down into separate elements of the sushi - nori, rice, other ingredients
Talk about the origin of each and chain of events that created the ingredient and how that item came to be here.
Discuss what the student receives from their parent
Provoke the idea of what did they need to receive in order to make the sushi.
For Question 3 could discuss waster, mess created by making the sushi
